Manual Transmission Fundamentals

This course describes how a manual transmission or transaxle functions to control the relationship between engine speed and wheel speed. Technicians learn how the energy produced in the engine is transmitted to the drive wheels through the drive train. The course shows how the transmission cannot shift unless the engine is detached from the gear train by disengaging the clutch. Clutch components and operation are covered in detail.
