Diesel Engine Fundamentals

Today’s diesel engines are nothing like their loud, heavy, and dirty ancestors. This course shows how passenger car and light truck diesels have evolved and are similar to and dissimilar from their gasoline engine counterparts.  Technicians will learn what types of components are specific to diesel engines, the characteristics of diesel engines, diesel fuel systems, and the characteristics of diesel fuel. A discussion of after-treatment systems is included.
